Sonar Log Viewer For Mac Download

Raising the level of fishing satisfaction is one of the primary missions for Combat Bass Fishing™. One of the ways to do that is to turn people on to some of the free tools that are available over the internet. The Lowrance® Sonar Log Viewer is one of those tools. If you have a unit that accepts chips then an inexpensive way to log your sonar data on the water would be to purchase a SD or MMC chip, insert it into your unit and start logging the information scrolling across the screen of your sonar. (Disclaimer: I’m not sponsored by nor do I work for Lowrance®.)

Once you have logged trip information you can insert the SD chip into a card reader and put the file onto your computer. Now you are ready to use the Sonar Log Viewer program. First of all, download the program from the Lowrance® website at:

  • TeamViewer for Mac. Establish incoming and outgoing remote desktop and computer-to-computer connections for real-time support or access to files, networks and programs. Collaborate online, participate in meetings, chat with other people or groups, and make video calls in one-click.
  • TeamViewer Host. TeamViewer Host is used for 24/7 access to remote computers, which makes it an ideal solution for uses such as remote monitoring, server maintenance, or connecting to a PC or Mac in the office or at home. Install TeamViewer Host on an unlimited number of computers and devices. As a licensed user, you have access to them all!

Sonar log from the North Channel in the St. Clair River

Crack parallels desktop for mac os x. This all sounds fine and good but what good is the sonar log without a point of reference? Perhaps you already found it on the image but there is a text box with the GPS coordinate, depth of the cursor, bottom depth and time. This software allows you to collect that information from anywhere you place the cursor on the log. Now we are getting somewhere!

Here are a couple of logging suggestions…

* Have a plan before you launch – Having a plan will help to keep your records in order later once you view the logs in the comfort of your home. There’s nothing more frustrating than to have a great piece of structure showing on a log but not know what it is. Having a plan increases the likelyhood that your records will show where you went, what you were planning on researching and notes about what you found. The graph only shows the sonar image. That image isn’t always easy to interpret without some reference information handy.

* Keep your plans and notes in a bound notebook – A single source for plans and notes can keep you sane when looking over years of logged information.

* Log data in small segments then write down the file name the sonar unit gives you for later reference. Even though you can grab the coordinate for any piece of structure shown on the log, long logs can make relating the structure you see to a place on the map difficult. It’s much easier to log a small area, run the log on the Sonar Viewer, grab the coordinate with the cursor then go to a small, designated area on a map and either draw the structure in (on a paper map) or insert the structure (into a digital map).

The entire process of logging information is an extra step while on the water but it can yield big results. How many times have we passed over a piece of structure we thought would hold fish and didn’t mark it with the GPS, write it down or even find it a second time when we tried to go back. Those “found” spots can come in real handy when looking for somewhere to fish away from the crowd.
